This NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification is ideal for those looking to pursue a career as a teaching assistant. On successful completion of your course, you will become a qualified teaching assistant.

Entry Requirement
- Learners must be at least 19 years old.
- Learners must also be working or completing a practical placement in a school or college for the duration of the course, because they need to demonstrate practical competence as well as knowledge.

Course Content
NCFE states that the certificate can usually be completed in 36 weeks.
The official learning-time figures are:
- Total Qualification Time: 321 hours
- Guided Learning Hours: 225 hours
- Credit value: 32 credits
This qualification prepares learners to support children and young people in primary schools, secondary schools, special schools and colleges. It covers how schools and colleges operate, child and young-person development, safeguarding, equality and inclusion, professional relationships, health and safety, positive behaviour, teamwork, play and leisure, supporting effective learning environments and creating educational displays. Practical skills are assessed within a real school or college environment.

To gain this Qualification the learner will need to achieve the following
- Learners must pass all 11 mandatory units. There are no optional units.
- Learners will need to be working or on a practical placement for the duration of the course in a learning environment (school or college) as they need to show competence in both skills and knowledge.
