NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning

This qualification provides learners with an in-depth understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school and college environments. It covers all aspects of specialist support including planning; delivering and reviewing assessment strategies to support learning alongside the teacher; bilingual support; special needs support; and personal development and reflective practice.
Entry Requirement
- Learners must be at least 19 years old.
- Learners must be working or undertaking a practical placement in a school or college throughout the taught programme, because practical competence must be demonstrated in a real working environment. NCFE recommends 200 placement hours.
Course Content
- NCFE states that the qualification can usually be completed in 36 weeks.
- The diploma develops the knowledge and practical skills required to provide specialist support to children and young people in schools and colleges. It covers supporting learning activities, safeguarding, health and safety, child development, behaviour, English and mathematics, information and communication technology, assessment for learning and professional relationships. It also includes more specialised areas such as special educational needs, bilingual support, planning and reviewing learning strategies, personal development and reflective practice.
To gain this Qualification the learner will need to achieve the following
- Learners must pass all 16 mandatory units.
- Learners are recommended to undertake 200 hours of placement in a real work environment.
