Early Years Courses

Why choose a Career in Early Years?

Children absorb an extraordinary amount during the first five years of their lives, and supporting them as they learn, grow, and develop can be both highly rewarding and fulfilling.

The early years sector is continuing to grow, creating exciting opportunities for those looking to build a meaningful career. In England, eligible working parents can now access up to 30 hours of government-funded early years education and care per week, for 38 weeks of the year, from the term after their child turns nine months old until they reach school age.

This expansion is expected to create even more opportunities across the early years workforce, increasing the demand for skilled, dedicated professionals who are passionate about supporting young children during these crucial stages of development.

Teaching Assistant Courses

Why choose a Career as a Teaching Assistant?

As a Teaching Assistant, you work under the guidance of a qualified teacher while playing an important role in supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing. You can provide individual and small-group support, help pupils build confidence, and contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Many Teaching Assistant roles are term-time only, offering a working pattern that can fit well around family and other commitments. The role can also provide valuable experience and progression opportunities, including pathways towards further qualifications and, for those who wish to progress, a career as a qualified teacher.

Special Education Needs (SEN) Courses

Why Choose a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Course?

A qualification in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) can provide you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to support children and young people with a wide range of additional needs. As schools and early years settings continue to strengthen inclusive practice, there is growing demand for skilled professionals who understand how to support children with SEND effectively. Gaining a recognised qualification can enhance your knowledge, strengthen your career prospects and help you stand out to potential employers.

Home Based Childcare Courses (Childminding)

Why Choose a Home-Based Childcare Course (Childminding)?

Becoming a childminder gives you the flexibility to work from home and choose hours that fit around your family life.

You can build your own childcare business, decide how many children you wish to care for, and work with a range of age groups, from babies to older children.

It is an ideal career choice for those seeking greater independence, flexibility and the opportunity to make a positive difference in children’s lives.

What is the difference between Childhood educators and Teacher Assistants?

Early childhood educators work with young children from birth to age five. They create and run educational programs that fuel children’s intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth.

For those considering a teaching assistant role, they will usually be assigned to a class or even to a year group, to help numerous children to reach their full potential.

As well as providing academic support in lessons and helping a teacher to manage behaviour, they may also run small groups with certain pupils to help boost their writing, reading or maths skills.
